Finishes options

We offer different finishes for both plastic and metal parts.

Anodizing, sandblasting, polishing, black oxid, zinc plating, chrome plating, nickel plating, painting...

What are we offering?

At Proto&GO! in addition to the manufacture of your prototypes, we offer different finishes for both plastic and metal parts; Thanks to this service, we are able to offer an integral solution for the manufacture of your prototypes and the production of your parts manufactured in cnc machining3D printing   or vacuum casting. Anodizing, sandblasting, polishing, black oxid, zinc plating, chrome plating, nickel plating, painting... You can select the type of finish most suitable for your needs.

Different finishes

Anodizing

Surface finish applied to aluminium. Improves corrosion and the aesthetic appearance of the parts.

Anodizing is an electrochemical technique that changes the surface properties of some metals. It is mainly applied on aluminum. and although we perform surface anodizing. There are different reasons to perform a surface anodizing, such as improving surface hardness and resistance to wear but especially the aesthetic appearance of the surface. Very short, without requiring large investments in molds and tools.

Polishing

Finish that achieves a smooth and shiny surface in metallic materials and a transparent surface in some plastics.

On transparent plastic materials, such as Polycarbonate (PC) or Methacrylate (PMMA), as well as some metals, such as stainless steel or brass, you can also select a polished finish.

In the case of plastics, it's essential if high transparency is required. If transparency is the main characteristic you required, we recommend the use of PMMA - Methacrylate.

Sandblasting

Surface finishing consisting of matting the parts by removing the machining marks.

This type of surface texturing is achieved by introducing the workpiece into a chamber where silica balls are applied to the surface of the object at high pressure through pneumatic nozzles.

Thanks to the sandblasting process, machining marks are removed and the surface of the metal is cleaned. This finishing option is the most recommended for parts that need to maintain a good aesthetic appearance without the need for anodising.

Black Oxid

CNC Carbon steel Black oxid CNC Carbon steel Black oxid Specific steel finish with black colour that improves the appearance of the surface.

The Black Oxid is a treatment that, by chemical conversion, causes the forced oxidation of steel parts to improve their appearance and postpone corrosion.

The colour of the oxidation is generally a deep black for carbon steels. This process hardly varies the dimensions of the treated metals.

Zinc plating

Zinc Bath to protect the parts from oxidation.

Zinc  Plating is the surface treatment of a piece of metal with a Zinc Bath to protect it from oxidation while improving its appearance.

in general, Zinc Plating provides an average coating thickness of 6 to 12 microns, generating a resulting  white-grey colour.

Chrome Plating

Chrome plating which can be done on plastic and metals to prevent oxidation.
Chrome Plating is a surface treatment (chrome bath) that can be done on some metals and plastics.

In the case of metals, it is used to prevent the oxidation of materials, it also offers a decorative finish that provides resistance to corrosion.

In the case of plastic materials, the ideal material for this finish is Natural ABS.

Painting

Surface finish applied to different materials so that the piece will obtain the desired colour, either in RAL or Pantone.

Painting is a surface treatment that can be applied to different materials, both plastic and metal.

There are three different painting types to choose from: matt, satin or glossy.

The painting of the pieces allows us to offer an aesthetic surface finish for your project.

You can choose the colour of the painting in RAL and PANTONE.

PIGMENTED

Surface finish applied to different materials so that the piece will obtain the desired colour, either in RAL or Pantone.

When we produce the pieces in silicone moulds (Vacuum Casting), we can choose between two types of surface treatment, painting or pigmentation.

The Pigmentation, consists in adding the colour while the polyurethane is liquid. In this way, the piece is made directly with the desired colour, so that the colour of the piece is not superficial but coloured in the mass.
The pigmentation can be applied to both rigid and flexible polyurethane parts.

Nickel Plating

Nickel Plating applied to metals to improve resistance and aesthetic appearance.

Nickel Plating is a metallic nickel coating obtained by an electrolytic bath to increase the oxidation and corrosion resistance of metals and improve their appearance, especially in decorative elements.

This process is applied to certain metals, such as steel or aluminium, and the resulting colour is white-grey.
